Susan Griffin
Susan Griffin spent much of her adult life raising four daughters with her husband, Tim, enjoying each of the places they called home: New York City, Arlington, Los Angeles, Houston, Minneapolis and finally Asheville. In each city, she continued her calling as a self-described “professional volunteer”. This vocation included teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, leading numerous Bible studies and planning women’s retreat programs. She successfully restructured and directed a youth swim team, tutored elementary reading and writing programs and encouraged middle school students’ participation in volunteer outreach programs.
With her move to Asheville, Susan has participated in neighborhood and civic efforts to make downtown a better living experience for all residents. Through each relocation, Susan has sought ways to give back locally, but also globally. After a long history of supporting ALM, Susan was thrilled by the invitation to serve on the Board in 2022.
