Shyam provides technical support to neglected tropical disease (NTD) and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programs. A medical and development professional with more than 30 years of experience with The Leprosy Mission Trust India (TLMTI), she combines clinical expertise with strategic, analytic and innovative thinking. For eight years she led program development, monitoring & evaluation and organizational learning for TLMTI at the national level. As a member of the operations team, she provided strategic input and support to TLMTI’s country strategy implementation. Shyam is a graduate of Christian Medical College, Vellore and has more than 25 years of clinical and management experience in leprosy, ophthalmology and general healthcare services at both the hospital and community levels, including training and research. In her free time, Shyam volunteers at a charitable health facility in her hometown in India, running a weekly primary eye care clinic for the underprivileged.
