Melissa leads American Leprosy Missions’ program team in developing and driving strategies, capabilities, collaboration and processes to deliver evidence-based field ministry. She supervises the implementation of necessary tools to ensure the team and project portfolio accomplish the organization’s objectives.
Melissa is passionate about capacity building and effective collaboration.Prior to joining American Leprosy Missions, Melissa worked with various global health and economic development projects in west and east Africa, supporting monitoring and evaluation methods and systems development to show impact and inform program improvement. Melissa served as a program manager during the Ebola outbreak in Liberia, helping to strengthen community prevention measures. She later worked as a research fellow with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to build countries’ local capacity to prevent and respond to public health outbreaks.
Melissa completed her B.S. in Nutrition and Master of Public Health at the University of Tennessee, and a Master of Science in Applied Analytics at St. Louis University.
