George Gitau, M.P.I.A., Regional Director for Africa
George leads the implementation of American Leprosy Missions’ strategic plan in Africa. He brings more than 20 years of executive leadership experience to this role, having served with both Compassion International and World Vision International in the Africa region and in different countries in East, West and Central Africa. George has led large multi-sectoral projects in health, WASH, education and economic development programs with great results. He loves working with communities to bring transformational change that endures the test of time. American Leprosy Missions also benefits from George’s innovative ideas in health and economic development initiatives. He has an undergraduate degree from University of Nairobi, Kenya and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a master’s degree in international development. George is based in Kenya with his family.
