December 24: Fulo’s Story

Proverbs: 21:26 – “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.”

One day Fulo’s mother noticed a pale patch of skin on Fulo’s side. So Fulo, her oldest sister, and their parents walked in the hot sun and took a long bus ride to the hospital. Five-year-old Fulo wore her best dress for the journey.

When they arrived, the doctor told them little Fulo had leprosy. Fulo’s mother started to cry and her father got very quiet. The family was frightened because they had seen people deformed by leprosy. But the doctor told them it was good they had come to the hospital so quickly. If Fulo took her medication every day, she would be completely cured, and her skin patches would disappear. Fulo’s family was so thankful and relieved.

Suddenly, a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” (Luke 2:13-14)
