December 10: Sending medicines and supplies into poverty zones

Many doctors and health workers in Africa and Asia lack basic medicine and medical supplies that you or I could easily get at the corner drug store, and people are suffering and dying because of it. Illnesses and infections go untreated … and get worse. Pharmacies in clinics and hospitals are empty, and patients need to travel great distances to access medicines.

Thanks to your support, in fiscal year 2016, we shipped 94,750 treatments to Nepal, DR Congo, and the Republic of the Congo. These medicines and medical supplies were worth more than $5.1 million!

These crucial shipments were airlifted in small, mobile medical packs which are easy to use and transport. Your generous support covered the cost of shipping and handling, enabling us to get this medicine where it was needed quickly so that people with leprosy and related diseases could receive treatment and care.
