Laura Zylstra

As part of American Leprosy Missions’Laura Portrait development team, Laura is passionate about building relationships and strategies that enable caring individuals to make a meaningful and lasting impact. She believes donors and supporters are at the heart of ALM’s work, providing encouragement and resources for our mission and transformational change in the lives of people across the world.

Laura has devoted her decades-long career to the nonprofit sector, both within organizations like Habitat for Humanity International and Fonkoze, and as a fundraising
consultant. She also volunteers as a conference trainer and presenter and in various leadership roles for professional fundraising association boards.

Originally from Michigan, Laura attended Hope College before graduating from Grand Valley State University with a degree in Advertising and Public Relations. After more than 30 years in New England, New Delhi, India and Washington, D.C., Laura returned to her roots and now lives in Grand Rapids with her husband. She is an active Rotarian and enjoys live music and
international travel.
