Lori Schmidt
Several years ago, Lori visited India and encountered a child with leprosy, which eventually led to her involvement with American Leprosy Missions, first as a supporter and then as a member of the board of directors. Lori has a B.A. in environmental studies with an emphasis in Geographical Information Systems, and spent the last part of her career at Vanderbilt University working with international graduate students. Lori serves on her church’s missions board at Franklin First United Methodist Church, located just south of Nashville, Tennessee and is involved with various local community programs. She serves on the board of New Life Restoration Ministries, a school and orphanage located in Nairobi, Kenya where she created a successful sponsor-a-child program. Lori is also involved with ACD Guatemala, a faith-based community organization; she travels once a year to their location in the western highlands of Guatemala. Lori and her husband live in Nashville and have one son.
