Daniel Izzett

Dan Izzett PortraitBorn and raised in Zimbabwe, Dan Izzett brings more than thirty years of ministry work and a very personal knowledge of leprosy to the Board of Directors of American Leprosy Missions.

For fifteen years Dan worked in civil engineering providing quality control and construction site management, including managing three large earthwork dam projects in the country and road works in the city of Harare in Zimbabwe. In the 1970s both he and his wife were diagnosed with leprosy.

In 1980, Dan’s right leg was amputated as a result of leprosy complications. The next year Dan entered full-time ministry in his local church. In that capacity he provided mentoring and counseling, planted new churches, taught Bible classes and worked in community outreach until his retirement in 2012.

Dan served on the board of The Leprosy Mission International, based in London, for eight years. He joined the Board of Directors of American Leprosy Missions in 2015.
